Everything About NEET 2027
What is NEET?
NEET UG or National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test is a national level medical entrance examination that is conducted to offer admission to medical courses such as MBBS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, BSMS and dental courses. This is a standardised exam mandatory for all AIIMs, JIPMER and other top medical colleges. Physics, Chemistry, Biology are the 3 sections of the NEET exam. In order to appear for the exam candidates must have passed class 12 and must have completed 17 years of age or will complete that age on or before 31 December of the year of admission. As per the NEET age eligibility there is no upper age limit to appear for the exam.
About NTA
National Testing Agency or NTA is the conducting body of NEET UG exam. NTA has been established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India as an fully autonomous and independent test conducting body. The objective of NTA is to conduct the NEET exam efficiently and transparently adhering to the international standardisation.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR NEET 2027
NEET aspirants have to meet the eligibility criteria for the exam. Here is the detailed NEET eligibility criteria:
- Candidates must have completed 10+2 and should have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology.
- The minimum marks in class 12 as per NEET eligibility criteria is 50% for the general category students, 40% for OBC/SC/ST and 45% for PwD category.
- Students must have completed 17 years of age or must be of 17 years by the end of December of the year in which they are appearing for the examination.
- There is no upper age limit for NEET examination.
